Earlier this Fall I stumbled upon a really neat children's book-review blog called The Well Read Child. She has a Thursday feature where participants blog about what books their kids are currently reading for that particular week.
There was a call for hosts to publish that even on their blog. And well...since I obviously love the kooky frenzy of managing a gabillion projects at once, I volunteered as hostess!
Which means I should now [insert book our info here].
But who am I kidding? Totally not possible this week. This week has been incredibly and ridiculously busy!! And...I kinda forgot. We just have so much going on in our little neck of the beautiful woods!
But first of all, a super special thanks goes out to Om Mama Shanti, the lovely soul who reminded me that today is my day to host! I look forward to reading all about her review "Mythology: The Gods, Heroes and Monsters of Ancient Greece" -- a topic very near and dear to my heart!!
Now back to slackerdom...I know you are just clinging on to the edge of your seat with interest in hearing my little ol excuse as to why I am a total book-review-slacker today. And because I appreciate your sincere interest (hehe), I am now going to tell you the reasons.
I had started to write this post the other day...but then got interrupted with many things, including this: If you haven't already heard...after an entire year of being closed on Etsy, I re-opened my handmade baby and children's clothing boutique called Joey & Aleethea !! woohoo!! Anyhow so I've been so busy having fun talking to my old customers and friends, catching-up with their lives and what's going on with their own growing babes, taking orders from new customers and new friends, and offline I've been sewing my [insert child-friendly word here] off at night!
All the while during the day keeping my 3 year old son Joey busy in rainy weather (reading books!), and trying not to somehow keep my almost 18 month old from throwing a super cute little fit every half hour! So why am I rambling here? Because oddly enough, the books (which I do not have reviews of) that we recently borrowed from the library have been my single most greatest source of sanity every day and evening for the past two weeks. Oh the irony.
So in a nutshell...the dog ate my homework.
But I did not come here empty handed! So here's an oldy but goody...a post from a few months ago which talks about some of our favorites and fun Dr. Seuss books.
I do look forward to hearing what everyone else is reading this week!
And if you did not blog about your books either (but I bet you did!) -- or if you're otherwise not participating in this event...just tell me about your week. Tell me if your life is a nutty as mine??!! Because just between us? I'm going bonkers...in a good, exciting, productive, adventurous, creative, handmade, Etsy-fun-filled sort of way. :D
